The Breakup

My Dear, Sweet, Diet Dr. Pepper,

I am a smart person, and I know soda is bad for me. It doesn’t matter if it’s diet or regular, the chemicals in my addiction to you are not good. I am completely obsessed with you. I can’t help it. I would even go so far as to say I love you. I can’t get enough of your unique, delicious flavors. And I know, you cannot be good for me. With your extra sodium, artificial sweeteners, abundance of phosphorous, and those other “natural and artificial flavors,” I am voluntarily putting something in my body that I know is not healthy. So, today, we are breaking up.  I am cutting you out of my life, along with all your other tempting soda friends. Goodbye my sweet friend, we may visit from time to time on special occasions, but I must cut you out of my life for my own good. Now, I am taking the plunge into immersing myself in pure water. Farewell to you, my obsession.
